"Christian discipleship" simply means following Jesus Christ. We do this by exploring who God is and who He calls us to be, and then living this out in community with others. There are many opportunities to grow in this kind of relationship with God at Ontario First as you will find out.
Life groups are small groups of people who meet regularly throughout the school year to connect with each other and with God through time in God's Word, friendship, prayer, and encouragement. Families in our church generally host these groups in their homes. Life groups run steadily from September through May, then have the option of meeting infrequently during the summer. Visit this link for descriptions of the various Life Group offered at OFCN, or contact the church office at 541-889-2155 for additional information.
Wednesday nights offer something for all ages during the school year. Activities can include dinner ($1.50 per person/ $6 per family), Celebrate Recovery for women along with various Life Groups. Contact the church office at 541-889-2155 for additional information or see the list of Life Groups here. There is a men's Life Group on the topic of evangelism, led by Robert D., for those seeking more in-depth study. This group meets on Mondays at 6:30am in the Weiser River Room of St. Alphonsus Medical Center.
We also have ministries specifically for men, for women, and for senior adults. Women enjoy getting together for a book club, luncheons, as well as retreats and various potluck functions. Men schedule special events at various times throughout the year, such as campouts, rafting, fishing, and other such activities. Senior adults (55+) have a potluck luncheon on the second Thursday of each month. Each of these provides opportunities to connect with others in a fun, informal environment.
In all of these things, our goal is to follow Jesus, together!
